Chelsea Football Shirts Worn With Pride

As the Manchester United players awoke from their slumber the morning after the Champions League final and looked down at the medal still probably glistening around their neck they will have wondered, if only a little, just how lucky they were.

Football is a cruel game and this final was no different, for me Chelsea should have won as they had been the more likely to score. Drogba was first denied by the post and then Lampard's nifty turn and shot was met by the crossbar. United themselves could have been 2-0 up had a Tevez connected with Ronaldo's cross after the Portuguese winger had risen to head them in front.

It was lady luck that played a big part in the build up to Chelsea's equalizer as an Essien shot took not one but two wicked deflections before landing in the path of Lampard who slid a shot into the net. Looking skyward no doubt to his Mum rather than the gods.

Then came a moment of stupidity as Drogba saw red for slapping Vidic in the face after an altercation involving Tevez knocking the ball out for a innocuous throw in after Chelsea had put it out in response to a United player down injured.

Chelsea only had themselves to blame, Untied couldn't make much of the numerical advantage and so the tension rose another level as both teams headed for spot kicks.

Ronaldo surprisingly was the first player to miss, his now trademarked pause during run up let him down as Cech stayed firm to palm the ball away. Now it was Chelsea who had the upper hand. Then stepped John Terry, Mr. Chelsea the man who suffered heart ache in three previous semi finals was about to have a fourth as he saw his spot kick hit the post. There were signs that he slipped but whether that had anything to do with it is anyone's guess.

And so they traded punches again before Anleka stepped up and saw his spot kick saved by Van Der Sar. It will be debated long after as to whether or not the best team won on the night but you couldn't deny United their glory. They have been an expceptional team this season orchestrated by an exceptional manager who etched his name in the history books as only the third British manager to win two champions league trophies.

For Chelsea this will be hard to take having come some close, yet they and the many fans decked out in Chelsea football shirts can only reflect on what might have been and pray that the team will have enough spirit to make it all the way next season.

Football Shirts That Speak Your Mind

Do you know why big companies put up hoardings and banners all over the city locations? Of course, to promote their products, but that's not the only answer. Companies put up hoardings and banners because they cannot go and tell each individual how good their product is. Hence, the best way is to put up a banner so that every passerby who goes from there can see it and think about it. Football shirts have the similar effect when you wear them. People wear football shirts to support their team but they also tell people and passersby that this guy loves this particular team and is passionate about his football.

Wearing a football shirt is fun because you don't have to go and tell everyone which team you support and which player you idolize. The football shirt is designed to speak your mind and when you wear it and walk into a bar or into a grocery store or anywhere else, people notice you as a die hard fan of a particular football team. In other words, soccer jerseys are a kind of loyalty tag that you wear on the street or in the stadium to let others know how much passionate you are about your favorite football team.

Makers of football shirts today try to make a variety of soccer jerseys for the fans that resemble very much like the original jerseys that the players wear on the ground, but you will still find a little bit of designs on the shirts because many football fans are very conscious about their style quotient and therefore they prefer wearing football jerseys that have a little bit of design on it so that they can look good in case if they are on the camera. Many business class people who prefer to look decent and are willing to support their team go for purchasing button-up football shirts that look professional.

If you are lucky to get your hands on the ticket than you will find that there may be thousands of fans wearing the same kind of football shirt as you have and football jerseys have the power to bond you with other people who cheering the same team. Hence, soccer shirts not only let you speak your mind but it also links you with your favorite team and another hundred people who are backing up your favorite football team in the stadium or anywhere else.

Cheap Football Shirts - Just One Problem

The cost of supporting your football team is ridiculous these days, especially for the truly dedicated fan and it really is no surprise to me when you see empty seats at a match.

For starters, there's the cost of your ticket. For lower division sides this isn't as much of an issue but to watch Championship and Premier League football, fans have to pay over the odds in my opinion. I support a Championship side and have recently shelled out just under £500 on a season ticket. The reason? I'm hopelessly dedicated to my team and I know that if I don't pay that amount for a season ticket, I'll only end up paying more for single tickets throughout the season. £500 is what I think a Premier League club should charge as a maximum, not a Championship club as a minimum.

So you've got your premium rate ticket and your heading towards the match but on the way you want to buy a programme. At my club, they cost £3, which again, is too much in my opinion, especially as they're full to the brim with adverts on nearly every page and have little interesting content. I've stopped buying them in the last couple of seasons and haven't regretted it for a minute and I'd advise anyone other fan to do the same.

It goes without saying but you should never pay for food and drink inside the ground at a football match as you'll pay well over the odds. My club isn't that bad in this respect but still charge over double the average retail price for a chocolate bar or a soft drink. However, I've heard horror stories about Premiership clubs charging huge amounts for sub-standard drinks and food.

A big issue in recent times is the price of football shirts. I think the tipping point was when clubs started to ask for more than 40 quid for a shirt that would out of date in less than a year. More teams are changing their home and away shirts every season these days, prompting calls for cheap football shirts from the fans and rightly so. A football shirt should cost no more than £30 in my opinion, especially if a club is going to change the design on a yearly basis.

Football is the national game and to keep it that way, teams need to use the money they get from television rights, sponsorship and sugar daddy owners to lower the price of admission as well as their commercial products. It's the right thing to do.
