FIFA World Cup 2010: South Korea Vs Greece Preview

If you want to know who the most successful football team from Asia are, look no farther than South Korea. They have featured in all the world cups held since 1986.

In the 2002 World Cup that South Korea co-hosted with Japan, South Korea stunned the world, when they entered the semi-finals at the event.

Nearly a decade later, the Asian football giants will seek a rerun of that feat. But before that, they must get past the group stage, and their immediate stumbling block is Greece whom they will face on Saturday, at Port Elizabeth.

In 2006, South Korea failed to get past the group stage, and they will want to achieve at least that objective, this year.

The match against Greece could prove crucial in helping decide which of the two will accompany Argentina to the round of 16. With Nigeria the fourth team in the fray, this is one of the tougher groups, and an upset or two could liven things up.

Going strictly by current form, South Korea should pip both Greece and Nigeria to the second spot in the group. The Asian team went unbeaten through their qualification matches, and in warm ups to the event in South Africa have got the better of Japan, Ecuador and Ivory Coast.

And in a match against European champions Spain at Innsbruck, the Koreans came close to holding the Spaniards to a draw; Spain managed to eke out a 1-0 win on the back of a late goal in the 86th minute by Jesus Navas.

Greece have qualified for the event after a long gap of 16 years. Their 1994 campaign in USA ended on a tearful note after they were demolished in all three group matches, while conceding 10 goals.

Greece followed up on their shock win in Euro 2004 by not qualifying for World Cup 2006 and by failing to win a match at Euro 2008, as defending champions.

As in Euro 2004, the absence of expectation could work in Greece's favour in World Cup 2010, according to their German coach Otto Rehhagel. Greece will look to the fleet-footed Celtic striker Georgios Samaras to provide them the initiative. The World Cup is an opportunity for Samaras to prove his unfulfilled potential where it matters most.

South Korea captain, Ji-Sung Park, will bring his hyper energetic self to bear in midfield as he orchestrates his side's campaign, in South Africa. His experience with PSV Eindhoven and Manchester United should prove handy in seeing his side past the group stage.

In a closely fought must-win game for both sides, South Korea have the edge.

England World Cup 2010 Qualification

I know the Euro 2008 finals tournament hasn't even started yet and unfortunately England will not be there as we failed along with all other home nations to qualify.

But at least we have the World Cup 2010 qualifiers to look forward too with the hope that
England can qualify from their group and go forward to South Africa. In recent years it has been a turgid affair following England. With the over hyped press before every major tournament and the equally vitriolic dissecting of the England football teams failings after being dumped out of the latest tournament. It's worth noting here in my opinion.

England is over rated with only Spain of the so called big teams regularly underachieving as often. Looking back England has only ever reached the final of one international Football tournament which makes us the worst performing of all the Countries that have won the world cup. In fact England's record in the Euros has been even worse their best finish being fourth in the 1996 Euros, hosted in England. Anyway enough of the England bashing I am after all English and would love to see England lift the World cup.

This is where I think not qualifying for Euro 2008 may have been a blessing in disguise as expectation is now at its lowest for many years and maybe nearer to realistic expectation levels. For me it is not the fact that England has won nothing in 42 years only a handful of countries have shared the major tournament trophies since then. I would like to see England enter the world cup qualifiers with a realistic press and void of all the nationalistic over hype we get through every tournament. The is after all some hope with Capello taking charge if nothing else he should be able to eradicate the prima Donna egos from which ever squad he chooses. And being at the twilight of his illustrious career appears to care little for courting the press. I still hold hope for the World Cup 2010. If nothing else perhaps we can entertain on our way to qualification.

The Cheapest Accommodation For the 2010 FIFA World Cup

In June of 2010, the Federation Internationale de Football Association World Cup will be in Durban, South Africa. The game schedule goes on for about a month and during that time, Durban will be a hopping, lively, exciting place to be. If you can afford it.

Hotel accommodation in the city is running at over $1,000USD per night during the games. Despite the cost, hotel rooms during the World Cup are filling up fast and downtown Durban promises to be very crowded as the world's greatest football teams match for the Cup.

Where will you be during the games? At home, watching them on television, hoping to catch some of the excitement through the screen? Or do you plan to be there in the mix, amongst the fans and the players, seeing the games live?

The FIFA World Cup is an event like no other. Seeing it live is a once in a lifetime experience that is not to be missed. The games are just part of the experience, however. The whole event, the city, and the people who attend for that month of the Cup are all a part of it. What's the best way to soak in all of the grandeur and excitement that is the World Cup in Durban?

Simply put, it's to be there and to do it the fun way. How about camping just minutes from downtown, just minutes from the beach, and just minutes from the stadium? What if that camping included meals, access to showers and restrooms, and a large, indoor area with a big screen television playing the games all the time?

Well, that you can have.

Why not make it one big tailgate party with your friends at a fraction of the cost of a hotel in Durban? School will be out for the events and so we've secured campgrounds at two of the best local schools to accommodate World Cup attendees in 2010.

The Northlands Primary School has everything you need to enjoy your time during football's greatest moment. Ten minutes' walk from the beach, two minutes from local restaurants and shopping, and just minutes from the stadium and the games, this is a primary location for the FIFA World Cup attendee!

Join us in the best way the FIFA World Cup can be seen during these historic 2010 games in June. For a fraction of a hotel, you can have the experience of a lifetime in South Africa's Durban!

World Cup 2010 - Cape Town Fan Walk - Fire Dancers

The Host City Cape Town Fan Walk has been described by media organisations as "the big success story of World Cup 2010" and "Better than Berlin - times 10," amongst other accolades. For every one of the Cape Town match days, the Fan Walk became a 2.5km-long festival of Mother City culture - decked in flags of the world, lively with buskers and street theatre; mouth-watering cuisine; bands and minstrels; and of course thousands upon thousands of football fans from all over the world. These fire dancers wowed the crowds on many nights.

FIFA World Cup - A History 1962 to 2002

1962 Hosts for the 1962 edition were Chile despite recently having suffered a devastating earthquake. Brazil were favorites to retain the trophy but Chile thought they had a world-beating plan of action. Before they played Italy they ate spaghetti and won. Before they played Switzerland they ate Swiss cheese and won. Before they played Russia they drank vodka and won (must have been an interesting game). So when they came up against Brazil in the semi finals, what did they do? Did they eat Brazil nuts? No, they drank coffee and promptly lost 4-2. Brazil once again claimed the trophy by beating Czechoslovakia 3-1 in the final.

Statistics Host Country: Chile

Countries: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, Colombia, Czechoslovakia, England, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany, Yugoslavia

Final: Brazil 3, Czechoslovakia 1

Top goal scorer: Drazen Jerkovic, Yugoslavia (5)

1966 In 1966 the World Cup came back to where the modern game of football began in 1863, England and the trophy was destined to stay there for four years. It might have stayed there permanently because when it was put on show at the Westminster Central Hall in London four months before the tournament was to start it was stolen. Seven days of acute embarrassment ensued while authorities tried to find the missing cup without any result. Eventually a black and white dog called "Pickles" found it underneath a hedge wrapped in newspaper whilst doing what dogs do under hedges. Pickles shot to stardom and the English Football Association had a replica of the trophy made - "just in case". The replica can still be seen at the English National Football Museum.

The 1966 World Cup was memorable for several reasons. It was the first World Cup to have a mascot - "World Cup Willie", a lion dressed in the English strip. It was a World Cup marred by vicious tactics on the field and by poor refereeing that saw Brazil literally kicked off the pitch in the first round. The final against West Germany was also memorable due to one of the most controversial goals in Cup history. In extra time Geoff Hurst of England launched a shot that hit the underside of the goal crossbar and bounced down. The referee ruled that it had landed behind the goal-line and was therefore a goal. The West Germans protested that it did not go behind the line but the linesman upheld the referee and the goal stood. Hurst put the matter beyond doubt in the last minute by scoring.

Statistics Host Country: England

Countries: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, England, France, Hungary, Italy, Mexico, North Korea, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany

Final: England 4, West Germany 2 (after extra time)

Top goal scorer: Eusebio, Portugal (9)

1970 Mexico 1970 was Brazil's and Pele's World Cup. After 1966 when Brazil were knocked out in the first round, Pele had vowed never to play in the World Cup again. Fortunately he was persuaded to make a final appearance in 1970. Hopes were high in England for a repeat of the 1966 success but matters were not helped when the England captain was jailed for four days on manufactured charges of stealing a bracelet in Guadalajara a couple of weeks before the opening game. Those, the humid playing conditions and Gerd Muller in devastating form, were enough to see West Germany take their revenge in the quarter final for the defeat in the previous competition's final. But Brazil seemed unstoppable thanks to their magnificent attackers but their defense was questionable. Could the Italian front line turn this to their advantage? At half time it seemed that they could with the score line at 1-1 and the Brazilians obviously demoralized. But after half time Pele took charge laying on passes that led to two Brazilian goals and finding the net himself. Brazil had won the World Cup for the third time and therefore was allowed to keep the Jules Rimet Trophy permanently. Some year later it was stolen and never recovered. It is presumed it was melted down.

Statistics Host Country: Mexico

Countries: Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, El Salvador, England, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Romania, Sweden, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany

Final: Brazil 4, Italy 1 (after extra time)

Top goal scorer: Gerd Muller, West Germany (10)

1974 In 1974, West Germany played hosts for the competition for the new trophy, the FIFA World Cup. West Germany had a tremendously strong side but then so did Holland with its brand of "total football" and Poland. Holland beat Brazil 2-0 to face West Germany in the final in Berlin but the German ultra efficient football machine held out against the inspirational Dutch to grab a late winner.

Statistics Host Country: West Germany

Countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Chile, East Germany, Haiti, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Scotland, Sweden, Uruguay, West Germany, Yugoslavia, Zaire

Final: West Germany 2, Netherlands 1

Top goal scorer: Grzegorz Lato, Poland (7)

1978 1978 saw the FIFA World Cup being held in Argentina and it was one of the most controversial with very strange refereeing and organizational decisions seeming to favour the home country. In a second-round match Argentina needed to score at least four goals against Peru. It scored six and Peru were heavily criticized for giving the game away. In the final Argentina seemed to have an extra man in referee Sergio Gonella. His decisions were so blatantly pro Argentina that there were calls (particularly by the Dutch) for the match to be re-played in a neutral country - calls that fell on deaf ears.

Statistics Host Country: Argentina

Countries: Austria, Argentina, Brazil, France, Hungary, Iran, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Tunisia, West Germany

Final: Argentina 3, Netherlands 1 (after extra time)

Top goal scorer: Mario Kempes, Argentina (6)

1982 An expanded World Cup was launched in 1982 in Spain. Eight more teams participated bringing the total to 24. The idea was to allow the lesser footballing countries to enter the tournament. The idea was vindicated by impressive displays by Algeria and Cameroon. Italy proved to be unstoppable that year and defeated the strong West German side 3-1 in the final even after Antonio Cabrini of Italy became the first player to miss a penalty in a World Cup final.

Statistics Host Country: Spain

Countries: Algeria, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Chile, Czechoslovakia, El Salvador, England, France, Honduras, Hungary, Italy, Kuwait, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Peru, Poland, Scotland, Spain, USSR, West Germany, Yugoslavia

Final: Italy 3, West Germany 1

Top goal scorer: Paolo Rossi, Italy (6)

1986 Colombia had been chosen to host the 1986 World Cup but was unable to due to economic considerations so the venue was switched to Mexico despite strong efforts by Holland and the United States to have the competition on home soil. Brazil, the favorites were knocked out in the quarter finals by France on penalties. Another quarter final saw Argentina's Diego Maradona famous "hand of God" goal against England. Several billion TV viewers saw him use his hand to punch the ball into the back of the English goal but the referee did not. It was a blatant cheat that still rankles with English fans today as it saw their team go home. In the final against West Germany he showed that he didn't need to cheat to win as he brilliantly led his country to a hard fought win by 3 goals to 2.

Statistics Host Country: Mexico

Countries: Algeria, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Denmark, England, France, Hungary, Iraq, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Northern Ireland, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Uruguay, USSR, West Germany

Final: Argentina 3, Germany 2

Top goal scorer: Gary Lineker, England (6)

1990 The 14th World Cup was without doubt the most boring so far. Every team was so scared of losing that games became low-scoring brutal chess matches. Both semi finals went into extra time and then went on to be decided by penalty kicks. The final contested by West Germany appearing in its last World cup before unification and Argentina. In a dour and dirty struggle with two sendings off. West Germany won 1-0 by way of a penalty.

Statistics Host Country: Italy

Countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Cameroon, Colombia, Costa Rica, Czechoslovakia, Egypt, England, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Romania, Scotland, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, United States, USSR, West Germany, Yugoslavia

Final: West Germany 1, Argentina 0

Top goal scorer: Salvatore "Toto" Schillaci, Italy (6)

1994 FIFA saw the United States as an untapped market as far as football (or soccer as the Americans call it) was concerned and so decided to award the 1994 tournament to them. Italy were on song with their play-maker Roberto Baggio playing some sublime football. Argentina were hopeful that a newly re-called Maradona could steer them to success but the hope evaporated when he proved positive for a banned substance and was sent home in disgrace. The U.S. on home ground had a better than expected tournament finally going out to Brazil. Earlier they had beaten Colombia thanks to an own goal by Colombian Andres Escobar who was shot dead when he arrived back home. The final between Brazil and Italy was an absorbing game of Brazil's irresistible attacking force meeting Italy's immovable defensive force. Predictably the match ended 0-0 after extra time so it went to the penalties and sudden death. Roberto Baggio of Italy sent his kick high over the cross-bar and Brazil were the winners.

Statistics Host Country: United States

Countries: Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Colombia, Germany, Greece, South Korea, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, USA, Sweden, Switzerland

Final: Brazil 1, Italy 0 (3-2 on penalty kicks)

Top goal scorer (Joint): Oleg Salenko, Russia and Hristo Stoitchkov, Bulgaria (6) 1998 France, played host to an expanded World Cup with the number of participants brought up to 32. Nobody thought that France had a chance of winning and everyone was very surprised when the made it to the final. Amazement took the place of surprise when the managed to destroy Brazil 3-0 in the final. To this day nobody who isn't French can explain how they did it. Serious hooliganism reared its ugly head during the early stages of the tournament when English fans rampaged through Marseille and German fans attacked a police officer with an iron bar and left him permanently brain damaged.

Statistics

Host Country: France

Countries: Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Paraguay, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Tunisia, United States, Yugoslavia

Final: France 3, Brazil 0

Top goal scorer: Davor Suker, Croatia (6)

2002 For the first time the World Cup had co-hosts in Japan and South Korea. It was also the first to be held on the continent of Asia. Fears of major rioting due to hooligans proved unfounded due to the superb preparations by the co-hosts and the whole tournament had a party atmosphere. It was also a tournament of upsets. In 1998 the United States had finished last but in 2002 they sailed into the quarter finals before being knocked out by Germany. France, the holders were eliminated in the first round without scoring a single goal and Italy left the tournament early after some poor refereeing. In the end it was Brazil and Germany who contested the final with Brazil winning by two goals.

Football World Cup 2010: All Whites at finals

The All Whites booked their place in next year's football World Cup finals - and New Zealand sporting history - with a dramatic 1-0 win over Bahrain in Wellington last night. A passionate, sellout 35500 crowd at the Cake Tin saw Rory Fallon's header and Mark Paston's penalty save give Ricki Herbert's team a spot at the world's biggest sporting event for only the second time - and the first since 1982. The final whistle sparked scenes of incredible celebration as the capital got ready to party. Police and stewards had to hold back jubilant fans as the All Whites embarked on a lap of honour. Herbert, who played in the 1982 team, said his team had "given it everything, four years of total commitment". "We did a little bit of homework and really pulled it out of the top drawer," he said. ' "We thought we'd go through without conceding a goal, we thought one would do it. It's just so emotional." Fallon, whose father Kevin was an assistant coach during the 1982 campaign, gave a succinct summary of his all-important goal: "Them ones I don't miss." Paston said facing the penalty that would have ended All White hopes was "a bit surreal". "I basically guessed which way and it ended up in my hands - it was great." Team captain Ryan Nelsen, who plays for Blackburn Rovers in the English Premier League, paid tribute to the Wellington supporters. "I've played in some incredible atmospheres in my time but this is right up there. It's been brilliant." Prime Minister John Key was quick to ...

World Cup Golden Boot Betting

The 2010 World Cup is almost upon us and much of the talk will be about which player will take home the Golden Boot award. In 2010 we're likely to see more individual talent than ever before seen at a World Cup, with many extremely talented players on show.

Top of the list of talented players is Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Messi has been in mesmerising form for his club and goes into the World Cup hoping to rival the achievements of Argentine legend Diego Maradona. If Messi can score the goals to lead his nation to World Cup success this year it will go a long way to cementing his position as one of the greatest players ever.

Arguably the only man who currently comes rivals Messi for talent is Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo. Ronaldo's goal scoring record has been incredible over the last few seasons and he will be hoping to continue that into South Africa. When Ronaldo is on top of his game he is virtually unplayable and Portuguese fans will be hoping his demonstrate some of the goal scoring form he has at club level onto the international stage.

Fernando Torres and David Villa form the most feared strike force in the tournament. Two of the most talented strikers on the planet will play ahead of possibly the most creative midfield which will create a recipe for goals. Spain are widely expected to go all the way this summer, and if they do, Torres and Villa will be right up the top of the scoring charts.

England goes into the tournament with star striker Wayne Rooney in his best ever form. If England are to win the tournament they will need to rely heavily on goals from Rooney. Rooney has carried Manchester United for much of the current season and England fans will be hoping he can do the same for his country.

Someone who can never be written out of a battle for the World Cup Golden Boot is Germany's Miroslav Klose. Klose is one of the most predatory strikers in the World. Outstanding in the air and composed in front of goal, Klose is the current Golden Boot holder and will be hoping to defend his crown in South Africa.

For the first time in many years Brazil go into the tournament without a world class striker as a focal point. Arguably the best striker they currently have is Sevilla's Luis Fabiano. Fabiano was their leading scorer in qualification and the Brazilians, who always score plenty of goals, will be hoping that he can continue that form into the tournament itself.

Betting on International Soccer Matches

Every country has their own domestic leagues whether it is the English Premiership, the Spanish La Liga or the Italian Serie A. Most people who try their hand at soccer betting usually make the mistake of only concentrating on domestic league games. The cut and thrust of league matches can throw up unexpected results. This can damage your profits and leave weeks of hard work in tatters.

Betting on international soccer matches can be quite straightforward in terms of predicting the full time result. Of course, a certain amount of soccer knowledge is required for this to be possible. The reason these types of matches differ from conventional domestic games is that all the teams are well known to each other. This usually means the best team will prevail and have the better of the match.

International matches are played right through the year even when the domestic soccer season has finished. This satisfies both the soccer fans and betting enthusiasts appetite. It provides soccer betting opportunities during the close season when conventional matches are few and far between. This can be an invaluable source of income for the sport betting professional.

There are also a number of major international tournaments to capitalize on. The FIFA World Cup is held every two years as is the UEFA European Championships. Both these events also have comprehensive qualifying tournaments beforehand featuring even more games. You also have the regional events such as the African Nations Cup. This means there is always a huge number of games in the pipeline at any time of year.

Betting on international soccer matches is often overlooked in favour of the more glamorous league clashes. For the savvy punter this is a good thing and ensures the odds have sufficient value to produce an attractive profit. A year of international matches is sure to swell your betting bank provided you possess a good working knowledge of soccer.

Where Can I Buy a FIFA Trophy Replica?

We've all seen the famous image of that golden muscular looking FIFA World Cup Soccer trophy in every sports magazine, on TV, movie ads, in video games and music videos. It has become a real pop up icon in the last month or so as South Africa counts down to the opening ceremonies of the World Cup Football Event in June 2010. At first, people did not een know what the little golden phallus shape was about when it popped up at the bottom of our TV screens while watching TLN. It certainly catches your eye and pretty soon we ALL know what it is and where it is and that we want to have one.

Some very clever entrepreneurs have taken this ball and run with it. Everyone can now have a FIFA trophy of their very own. Replicas of the World Cup are now available at very affordable prices; they are not made of solid 18 K gold like original soccer trophy, these fake FIFA trophies are made of a rather unusual substance called colophony. Colophony, is a resinous substance derived from the oleoresinous sap of pine and other coniferous trees. It's place of origin is said to be Colophon an ancient ionic city in present day Turkey and it has many other uses besides trophy making, including violin string resin, varnishes, adhesives, cosmetics, cleaning solvents, sports grips, fireworks, chewing gum and paper products.

The replica World Cup 2010 trophy is not made in turkey however; like many sports souvenirs, such as the Canada Olympic Red Mittens were made in China, the replica trophy is also manufactured there too. It's getting hard to find a product that is NOT made in China these days, so, though many naysayers will speak out about how the FIFA trophy replicas & souvenirs, could have been made in Africa, it is a fact of 21st century life that all this kind of stuff gets made in China.

The Chinese have been making resin statues and other products for thousands of years and they do a great job of it and the fake soccer trophies are no exception. They are shiny, golden, perfectly formed and even have the same heft in the hand as the real deal. The replicas are the exact same size and weight as the original trophy and they also come in smaller sizes; scale 1:2 and scale 1:16 as well as the miniature key chain FIFA trophy, pendant or "minicord" size.

So, if these replica trophies are not in stores, then where can you buy them? They are available to everyone in the world right now from online African Football Shops, classified ad sites, like Craigslist, and at public auctions everywhere. You will want to get one soon as there were a limited number manufactured and no word of any more coming. As they say in all the TV ads "Don't Delay!"

African Football Shop Online - featuring FIFA trophy replicas in all sizes. Small scale 1:16 trophy, medium scale 1:2 trophies and full size/weight replicas. Mini replica FIFA trophies are in stock - key chains, mini cords & pendants all replicas of the World Cup Africa soccer trophy. You can buy your FIFA replica trophy online from all over the world from the African Football Shop and they ship world wide. FIFA team jerseys, badge shirts and jackets are now in stock for your favorite soccer teams as well as hats, scarves, pins, patches badges, FIFA event tickets, African t-shirts, flags, banners and official FIFA 2010 Africa match balls.

Oscar Perez - One Of The Best Goalkeepers In World Cup 2010

Oscar Perez Rojas was born on February 1, 1973. As the most senior member of the squad's pool of goalkeepers, he has the most experience in terms of club football matches and international caps. The 37-year-old custodian of Mexico's goal has had a long standing history of superb performances. Due to his agility and ability for a quick spring, he was nicknamed El Conejo or "The Rabbit", aside from his incredible presence inside the penalty box.

He began his professional career with Cruz Azul as a substitute in 1991. It was not until 1993 when he made his first professional debut for the club where he protected his goal resulting to a goalless draw. After that, he became the club's starting goalkeeper for many years and starred in the 1997 campaign in the Invierno Final where his team won over Leon by a score of 2-1. He had been honored by the club as one of the longest-tenured players with 413 impressive appearances for them. In the 2008-09 season, he was sent on loan to the UANL Tigres where he was also as impressive as ever conceding the least number of goals in the Apertura tournament. Currently, he is again on loan to Jaguares de Chiapas where even at his late age is still considered the top goalkeeper of the Mexican soccer club.

He was labeled as the best goalkeeper of the Mexico national team from 1998 to 2002 where he started in all of their international matches and minded his country's goal during the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup. However, he was left out of the national squad for the 2006 World Cup when their coach left.

He was reinstated for active international duty during the qualifying stages for the 2010 World Cup and helped his squad reach South Africa. He continued his consistent play in Johannesburg when his team fought the host South Africa to a 1 - 1 draw in the opening match. His mastery of the goal was very evident when he kept a clean sheet during their 2-0 win over previous runner-up France. He also started against Uruguay where they lost narrow score of 1-0. His impressive performances during the group stages again earned him the starting spot for their Round of 16 game against Argentina where they were eventually eliminated following a heartbreaking 3 - 1 loss.

With 54 international caps under his belt, he is clearly the most experienced member of his country's representatives in international soccer. At a time when new and young talents are being integrated into the team, he has shown steady and consistent performances and impressive composure which had helped him maintain his starting role. His rabbit-like agility together with a mental toughness brought about by 17 years of preparation and training had made him an icon in Mexico's long soccer history.

The Ghana National Soccer Team

Although they did not make their first FIFA World Cup appearance until 2006, Ghana has a long history of dominating in African soccer. They won their third African Cup of Nations title in 1978 and were given the original trophy, named the Abdelaziz Abdallah Salem Trophy, to keep forever. Overall, they are a four time winner and four time runner up in the African Cup of Nations Tournament.

Back in 2006, Ghana was the youngest team to take the pitch during the World Cup with an average player age of 23. Although they eventually were knocked out of the tournament in the second round by Brazil, the impressive wins they scored in the first round over the USA and the Czech Republic garnered them great attention.

The squad likely to head out to Johannesburg are, on average, a little older now, and feature a number of players who are stars in the big leagues, including Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien and former MLS striker Junior Agogo, the latter of whom is the team's leading goalscorer.

Locally, the Ghana national team is known as the Black Stars and is currently managed by Milovan Rajevac, a former Serbian professional soccer star. He was only appointed in 2008 after Frenchman Claude LeRoy quit the post, even though under his tutelage the squad achieved their highest FIFA ranking ever - 14th - in February of 2008.

Their all-time leading goalscorer is Abedi Pele with 33 goals in 73 appearances, and he is also their all-time "cap" leader for most appearances in international competitions.

TV Mobile Phone - Watch FIFA World Cup Anywhere and Anytime

The 2010 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. And this is what all football fans all over the world have been waiting for. Are you a big football fan and by which means do you watch the games?

Of course, the super large TV set is the best choice. However, it's not the case for the people who need extra work or travel on business. They may choose to watch video, but it can never be as fantastic as watching the live show. Then nice TV mobile phones appear very important. Some large screen TV phones can make you enjoy the World Cup more pleasantly.

3.7 inch screen: Samsung I8180C

It comes with built-in mobile TV module. You can watch TV programs through the 3.7 inch screen as you get out the antenna. Of course, it can never be an awful choice for watching World Cup. What's more, it doesn't only support mobile TV function, but also comes with excellent hardware configurations.

It's of touch-sensitive and straight board design. The whole model comes with a sense of simplicity. The pure black body looks very stable and weighty. The red line design on the back side makes it some kind of fashionable. The screen is a highlight of the model. The 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED screen ensures you wonderful display.

The 5,000,000 pixel camera is also magnificent. We know Samsung I8180C uses the Windows Mobile6.5. The third party software resources are very adequate. The 800MHz processor offers you a smooth operation speed.

The built-in GPS and Wi-Fi are also supported. It turns to be a more outstanding phone. By the way, it has 8GB built-in memory. There's no possibility for the users to complain the saving-space.

3.7 inch screen: MOTO MT710

As a masterpiece of MOTO in 2010, except for supporting CMMB, the OPhone can never be looked down in design and performance. It's of asymmetric design in appearance. The special design makes it quite different and fashionable.

It's impressive for the black front side and red back side. The 3.7 inch WVGA screen reflects the true nature of display. A 5,000,000 pixel camera is of mainstream standard.

MOTO MT710 is a mobile phone with OMS operation system. Software support is also good. It supports the TD network of China Mobile. It also supports Wi-Fi and GPS.

One year ago, it may be a joke to talk about watching World Cup on mobile phones. However, it's no more a gag, but a real and valuable application in our life. At present, the mobile TV hasn't been widely accepted by the American and Europe market. However, there are more and more companies start to enter into the free mobile TV market.

In April there are 12 American TV channel operators including the Norman Fox, NBC and Gannett integrating broadcasting and TV frequency spectrum by joint ventures broadcasting TV programs for 0.15 billion population. The mobile TV technology will be more and more popular on the market.

2010 FIFA World Cup Video Game

The World Cup is here again and EA Sports have not missed this opportunity to release a new sports game 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, if its only 6 months after the release of FIFA Soccer 10. Having both games coming out so close together there are no great jumps forward, but this is a different game not just the same game under a different name. Having said that there are some noticeable improvements made to the field of play, while you will not find the same depth of gameplay modes, you will find enough options on here to keep entertained.

With FIFA Soccer 10 you could play either domestic or international football, the new game allows you to play only international football. If you think that's only the 32 teams that have qualified no you have 199 teams, giving you either the choice to play in the World cup or go though the qualification process. You can play a number of friendly matches during the qualification rounds allowing you to experiment with your tactics or formation. Playing with a lower ranked team is a completely different than playing with the big names Spain, Brazil or England

Taking control of any team 2010 FIFA World Cup is entertaining and realistic. This allows for a more physical style of football. Each player and the referee have a improved physical look than the earlier games. Players that are on the floor will have to be avoided, you cannot just run though them, the referee sill try to avoid the ball as with real football this is not always possible. When one of your players gets booked a slow motion replay shows you that the card was warranted

In open play you have control of every player automatically switching to the player nearest the ball. The controls on this game are very responsive and may take a while to get used to, you can also customize the button layout for specific actions. Every button on the control pad is used, and some action will require to press one button while holding down another. By using the two button control set-up you only need to press one button for passing and a different one for shooting, although this makes the game easier to use you do not have the saw control as with the regular setups.

A more challenging way to get started with 2010 FIFA World Cup is by using the Captain Your Country mode. As with FIFA 10 you still have the Be a Pro option which allows you take control of only one player. You can choose any player for any of the 199 squads, or create a new player for any team by doing this you will need to play in B teams and friendly matches to earn your place. When using this mode you will not need to chase the ball but play in a position that you choose and chevrons at your feet point to were you should be and you get a rating from 1-10 depending on how you are playing.

One of the problems with this game is when you call for the ball or a through ball a second after someone else has passed the ball to you, this causes you to have preload a first touch pass or a different action meaning you are likely to give the ball away. Off the field the rating are very inconsistent, more so for the captain, you could be the the highest scorer in the qualifying rounds but only get into the team as a reserve. The managers in 2010 FIFA World Cup do not like the captain it hang onto this role for more than a for matches, this is very frustrating to be man to the match in one game but lose the armband for the next match. This game can support up to 4 players but to not allow for it to be played online

There are options to play this game online nut this are limited, you can head to head matches against friends, ranked opponents and players find online via this game, but the only game you can play is the Online World Cup. You can choose to play as any of the 32 teams competing in this years finals, in makeshift tournaments playing both group and knockout stages. Matches can suffer from having just enough lag to allow your timing to be out when button presses, this is more of a problem with PlayStation 3 than Xbox 360.

There are other online functions for 2010 FIFA World Cup this include squad updates that are already in effect, a empty store to place downloadable content and a Story of the Finals mode were you have to complete scenarios from this years tournament. There are 45 scenarios in the Story of Qualifying mode, by completing this tasks you will be able to unlock scenarios from 2006 World Cup giving you a taste of what's to come

If like most sports fans you are excited by this tournament then 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa then you get a lot of fun from this game, in between matches of course so you do not miss any of the action. This game will keep you going right up until the release of FIFA Soccer 11.

World Cup 2010 - Who's In, Who's Out?

Argentina's coach, former legend Diego Maradona, who gave the soccer shirt 10 an iconic status back in the day, prayed for divine intervention hoping that his team reaches the 2010 World Cup at South Africa. After a 3-1 defeat against rival Brazil, that too, on home ground, things don't look too good for the Argentineans. It was their first defeat at home after being defeated 5-0 by Colombia 16 years back. But Maradona stood his ground, repeating, "The bearded one (God) saved me many times before - and I hope he will do so this time."

Having lost to Paraguay as well, Argentina now stand fifth in the continental group, a place below the final qualifying berth. Ready to take on Peru on home ground, plus a make or break match against Uruguay, Argentinean fans are keeping their fingers crossed, as is their coach. "We have to get it into our heads that these two games are crucial to our hopes and we can't keep giving things away such as we did against Brazil," said Maradona. Recently, while on a slimming course in Italy, fans surrounded him, complaining that a World Cup without Argentina just wouldn't be the same... He is said to have responded, "Don't worry, Argentina will be there." So, it's a match against the Peruvians and another crucial game against arch rivals Uruguay that'll decide Argentina's fate. Both Argentina and Uruguay could be vying for fifth place in the South American qualifying group, making it a critical match.

Meanwhile, Brazilian coach Dunga has earmarked a 24 man team before the South American group's final two games, hoping to give more players experience. Brazil will soon play Bolivia, followed by Venezuela. Dunga explained, "We have two games ahead and the first one is very wearing, but we'll try to do our best in Bolivia... Despite we have already qualified, we're Brazil and we have to win always. We try to keep the group and give chances to some new players."

Spain's soccer uniform number 6, Xavi Hernandez, feels that England is a strong candidate that can come in the way of Spain's World Cup dreams. Backing England as one of his favorites to win the 2010 World Cup, the midfielder feels that, "England were the big absence from Euro 2008 and I expect they are itching to show they can win the World Cup. They will be among our biggest rivals along with Brazil, Italy and Germany. And we might see a surprise this time from an African country like Ivory Coast. They look very strong to me right now." Let's see how the cookie crumbles... Only time will tell.

World Cup 2010 and the Year 2012

As we know that in 2010 there will be great football event, which is FIFA World Cup that will be held in South Africa next June and July. Then what will happen in 2012? Maybe our first mind when hearing 2012 is the movie entitled 2012. As we know that this movie is about the forecast of the end of the world that will happen in 2012. Maybe it will become true or not, but it's a really great public opinion.

In the movie, we may show that there will be great catastrophes in the world that will kill the majority of the people. Although it is just a movie, but some believes it as becoming reality since the Mayan Forecast says about this. Some people believe about this thing since the some of Mayan forecasts are relevant. But I don't think that will be great matter to debate whether this will become true or not. Just take it calmly since it's just a movie. But it's ok if you believe this.

Back to world cup 2010, the event is attracting great attentions from the football lovers in all over the world. The greatest football event in the world becomes the event to show which team is the best. Some known big teams with good football traditions like Brazil, Argentina, Spain, and Italy will show their best performance to become the king of the world's football.

In my analysis, the two big teams from Latin America, Brazil and Argentina will easily step forward to the next phase. It's very realistic since both teams have great talented players. Some of them are young talented players like Lionel Messi from Argentina as the best player of 2009, and Richardo Kaka from Brazil that also has good performance. Meanwhile, in Europe, I see that Italy, Spain, Germany, and Portugal have the same opportunity as Brazil and Argentina. It's reasonable since they have also great players on the team. The big event of world cup will be great football show that will attract the world's attention. Finally, my conclusion is that in both years, there will be great events (or just imagination in the case of year 2012) that will make the world influenced.

World Cup 2010 : Germany outclass England 4-1

The Germans power on, but the English become the third of Europe's big five soccer nations to depart the World Cup woefully short of living up to their billing. Germany thrashed England, 4-1 We know what the proper and sporting thing to say here is. Great game, Germany. You really stuck it to England in Sunday's World Cup match, you clearly had the fitter team, you dominated the pitch and deserved to win. Bravo, Deutschland. Fantastic hair, too. Eh, yawn. This is no fun at all. Sorry, Deutschland. Let's talk about The Outrageously Blown Goal of the Century. Did you see this madness? You have to have seen it by now! It's going to be replayed so often for the next four years they might as well print it on the £5 note. It's made England so mad that it has stopped insisting that its torpid and underachieving national team walk home from South Africa. England's World Cup ended in a mixture of humiliation and controversy as they were thrashed 4-1 by Germany in Bloemfontein. Ask any German old enough to remember Wembley Stadium, 1966, and they will tell you that England beat West Germany in the World Cup final with a goal that should never have been allowed. Franz Beckenbauer, perhaps the most accomplished German player of all time, never tires of saying to any Englishman who shakes his hand that maybe England deserved the Cup that day — but the ball shot by Geoff Hurst against the crossbar bounced down without crossing the line. History repeats itself, or rather history wipes ...

All columns from levels one to a portion of level five is already completed while columns for level five (half portion) and six which more than two third percent are on completion. Betting on the Football World Cup - For Beginners

Analysts expect that almost $1 billion will be bet on the 2010 Football World Cup during the tournament as football fans look to turn their knowledge of the beautiful game into profits in the Football World Cup betting markets. Despite the fortune that will be bet on World Cup odds, there are many more football fans who would like to bet on the tournament but feel intimidated by the prospect of using an online bookmaker and placing bets on the internet. In reality, football betting is very easy, and this simple guide to World Cup betting will show you how to get started:

1. What You Need

The first thing you need to place bets online is a reputable bookmaker. Online betting guides like Gambling-Guru.com provide in-depth reviews of top bookmakers, ensuring that you only deal with the best in the business. Look out for bookmakers located in the United Kingdom and Ireland, as these are regulated and have decades of experience in sports betting.

2. Opening an Account

Once you've found a quality online bookmaker, you'll need to open an account. During the registration process you'll be asked to provide personal details. You are not required to deposit funds while registering your account, however; some bookmakers will require you to register your credit card.

3. Depositing Funds

If you like the look and feel of your online bookmaker, you'll want to go ahead and deposit funds into your account. The easiest way to do this is with a VISA credit card. While other credit cards also work, VISA cards are the easiest cards to use when withdrawing winnings from your account. Using a credit card will also ensure that you qualify for a free bet.

4. Free Bets

Free World Cup bets are offered to new account holders by virtually all online bookmakers. Once you have made your deposit you can earn your free bet by placing a bet. Keep in mind that the free bet you are awarded will match the value of your first bet. Once your first bet produces a result you will be awarded a free bet coupon to use on any market at any time.

5. Placing a Bet

Placing a World Cup bet is simple. Find football on the list of betting sports, select the World Cup from the sub-menu and then choose the market you would like to bet on. As a beginner it's easiest to bet on the outcome of a match in the match betting markets.

To place a bet tick the result you expect the match to produce. Your 'selection' will then appear on a betting slip on your screen and you will be prompted to enter the amount you would like to bet and asked to confirm your bet.

If you're confused about how World Cup odds work, ensure that your odds format setting is on 'decimal'. Decimal odds are the simplest format to understand - just multiply your stake by the decimal odds to determine the total payout on a winning bet.

6. Bet Results

Your World Cup bets will be settled within minutes of a match producing a result. If your bet wins the winnings will be added to your balance. You can withdraw your funds at any time. Keep in mind that you will only be rewarded with a free bet once you have placed your first bet and the even you bet on has produced a result.
