ICC T-20 World Cup 2010

ICC T-20 World Cup Series has offered a new delight to the cricket fans all over the world. After the successful ICC T-20 world cup tournament of 2007, everybody was anxiously waiting for 2009 T-20 series. However, the tournament of 2009 held in England did not yield substantial output. After the unsatisfactory performance of ICC T-20 world cup 2009, all the hopes are now hooked up in the forthcoming third series.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in West Indies from 30th April to May 16th this year. The name of teams in t-20 world cup are Australia, India, South Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, England, West Indies and Ireland. Matches will be played on the following five grounds, Barbados, St. Lucia, Guyana, St. Kittis and Nevis.

The tournament will proceed in three stages, Group Stage, Super Eight Stage and Knock Out Stage. In the group stage, there will be a clash between the corresponding teams of groups. The best two teams of each group will qualify for Super Eight Stage. In this segment, the selected eight teams will be further segregated into two different groups. Each team is supposed to play three matches in this stage. As a result, the best four teams will qualify for the knock out stage. After the third stage, there will be Semi Finals and Final.

The ICC T-20 world cup schedule outlines the respective matches to be played by different teams. All the 12 teams have been divided in four groups namely A, B, C and D. Overall, there will be 27 matches. The qualifying nations are Afghanistan and Ireland, which will also take part in the series. The core groups include

Group A -Australia, Pakistan Bangladesh
Group B -New Zealand, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe
Group C -India, South Africa and Afghanistan
Group D -England, West Indies and Ireland
